"QSR Magazine" named several local joints among the 40 best startups in America.

The restaurants on the list have less than 40 locations and survived the COVID-19 pandemic.

All are "primed for success," the magazine says.

The Salad House: Sandwiches, soups, toasts, small plates and more are on the menu at the Salad House -- which, of course, has big customizable salads. Locations in Millburn, Morristown, Westfield, Livingston, Montclair and soon Englewood.

Wings Over: What started as a joke among Cornell alumni has become a growing franchise with locations across New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and more states. Wings Over offers nearly any type of meal you can think of that includes wings, and dozens of sauces. Located at Rutgers University and in Linden.

Tito's Burritos and Wings: Called a "quirky brand" by QSR, this Mexican eatery pairs burritos and wings. Choose from more than 12 wing sauces and create your own meal from a choice of nachos, salads, burritos and more. Located in Boonton, Ridgewood, Summit, Morristown, South Orange.
